number of conformation

 does anyone knows how estimate the number of conformation probably formed by 10 C-C bond...i'm not sure about the eqn dat can be used..

If you are talking strictly straight chain alkanes, with no rings, you can use the sequence here.  Ignore the first 1, so counting from the second "1", you get a total of 75 conformations.  But that does not include any conformations involving rings, or compounds that contain double bonds.  So this for the formula of C10H22
