A Couple of Chemistry Questions
« on: October 13, 2007, 09:32:58 PM »
Hey All. I have been attempting to solve these problems for a really long time but can't get these last four. Please help me solve all or at least parts of them. Thanks!!!

1. Standard methods say to weight 5.723 grams of EDTA (Na2 C10 H14 O8 N2 *2H2O) add add to about 500 ml of deionixed water in a volumetric flask. Adjust the ph to 8.5 then fill the volumetric flask to the 1 liter mark.
a. What is the molarity of the solution?
b. Assuming you instead added 1000 ml of water to 4.723 grams of EDTA, what is the molality of the solutions.
c. Using the values from b, what is the mole fraction of the solute?
d. Using the values from b, what is the mass percent of the solute?
e. What volume of solution would yield a 75% dilution?

THANKS ALL> PLEASE HELP ME ASAP>!
