Strichiometry problem help please!
« on: October 15, 2007, 05:34:30 PM »
Please help. I am very lost right now on what to do...

1. Suppose that, on firing, 1.000 g of BaSO4 is partially reduced by charred filter paper (100g carbon) to form CO(g) and BaS(s). What percentage of the BaSO4 weight would have been reduced?

2. When a solutin contain 1.0000 g of sulfate of an alkali metal is reacted with excess barium cholirde, 1.365 g of barium sulfate is precipitated. What is the percent sulfate of the unknown? identify the alkali metal.
