I rarely see that said, Mitch, but you are right, and right to point it out I reckon, its evil stuff, very handy solvent, for reactions needing a polar aprotic solvent, like the Swern oxidation, but for reactions using large quantities of reactants, which often need to be in a huge excess of solvent to reactants, mixed DMF/acetonitrile/DMSO solvents, add a few conditions like that into the equation, and you have a recipe for a very hairy reaction to watch over.
