Mechanism Troubles
« on: October 24, 2007, 01:59:10 PM »
So, for whatever reason, I can not figure out the following mechanism and thought someone could give me some help.

Ph-N=O + NCCH2CO2Et ----> HONPh-C(CN)=NPh in a sodium hydroxide solution with K2CO3 present.

Please help me. I have been able to make little headway with this problem.

Thank you,
:D
