Ionic and Covalent bonds character and Periodic Table?

I have to write a post about "Ionic and Covalent Bonds Character and Periodic Table". I really don't understand what I have to write. Is it about the properties of ionic and covalent bonds or is it about what makes a bonds ionic or covalent? And what's with Periodic Table? Any suggestion will do. Thank you so much.

You should write something about the nature of the chemical bond as Linus Pauling did about 70 years ago!
