I am having a really hard time understanding this problem.
A solution containing 12.0% sodium hydroxide by mass has a density of 1.131 g/mL. Sodium hydroxide has a density of 2.130 g/mL. What volume of the solution, in liters, must be used in an application requiring 1.00kg of sodium hydroxide?
The answer to the problem is 7.73 L solution. I do not understand how to start it. Help would be appreciated.
