alkaline pyrogalol?
« on: March 05, 2005, 12:50:07 PM »
Hi

I was doing a stoichiometry problem. We pass NO2 and O2 through alkaline pyrogalol whose weight increses. I'd like to know what happens. I mean does it "absorb" the NO2 or the O2?

Thanks in advance...

O2 for sure, no idea about NO2.

alkaline pyrogallol is a reducing agent. it 'absorb' both NO2 and Oxygen
