Resveratrol as an Antioxidant

I found the peroxide value of cottonseed oil by titration.  To find the antioxidizing abilities of resveratrol, I added that to the cottonseed oil.  The titration showed that the peroxide value increased from 110 to about 130.  I did the same method with BHT; BHT decreased the peroxide value of cottonseed oil from 110 to 28.  What would resveratrol, an antioxidant, increase the peroxide value?

From what source did you get the resveratrol?  Are you certain of its purity?  I would first look for experimental error in a case like this.  Repeat the experiment, if you haven't already.  Then check the purity of your reagents.  Did you use cottonseed oil from the same batch in both tests? 

I apologize if it seems like I'm picking on obvious things, but in my experience the obvious is the problem 90% of the time.
