ok well i have this lab and it is telling me to predict what the word equation when the hydrated copper(II) sulphate powder is heated on a hot plate. Could someone please explain to me what a word equation is please, thank you.

They've decided that they don't want chemical shorthand for this reaction, so instead of writing something like:

2 H2 + O2 ---> 2 H2O

You write something like:

Two moles of hydrogen gas reacts with one mole of oxygen gas to make two moles of water.

See, if the actually gave you the complete chemical formula for copper sulfate, the answer would be too obvious for you.  I'm figuring, they want you to guess, from your laboratory observations.
Hey, I'm not judging.  I just like to shoot straight.  I'm a man of science.

i sort of get it but not completly ok my data table looks like this

Mass of empty beaker, glass stirrer                                      105.49g
Mass of beaker, glass stirrer, hydrated copper(II) sulphate       108.49
Mass of beaker, glass stirrer, anhydrouse copper(II) sulphate   107.38g
 (After heating to a faint blue powder.)
Mass of hydrated copper(II) sulphate                                   3.00g
Mass of anhydrous copper(II) sulphate                                 1.89g
Mass of water that escaped from hydrated copper(II) sulphate 1.11g

could you help me now on how i could predicted but also determine the actual word equation for hydrated copper(II) sulphate powder when heated on a hot plate
