Organic Chemistry course online?
« on: April 11, 2008, 04:05:52 PM »
Does anyone know of such a thing?  I'm in the USAF in Japan, and I'm hoping someone could point me in the right direction.  The course is not offered on base, and I know that I would have to complete the labs in the states whenever I come home.  I just started studying the course using the textbooks and materials at the base library.  I'm pretty good at keeping up, and I would assume that it'll take me a solid 12months before I fully understand everything.

Any help would be great, but I also understand that this course may not be offered online anywhere.  Just crossing my fingers I suppose  ;D

MIT has an OpenCourseWare site where materials from MIT courses are available for free.  Some courses even have their lectures posted on YouTube (none for organic chemistry, though).  I haven't looked through to see how good the o-chem material is, but it may be worth checking out:

Good News for you yes there is Organic Chemistry Course offered online.

New England College of Osteopathic Medicine offers Organic Chem. I and II online with the Labs for students that have a bachelors ( I am not sure if that applies to you) degree and it is not semester based I believe.

Tuition is $940 for this four-credit course. The lab fee for this course, which includes registration, books, software for the virtual laboratory and technology access is $250.

Drake University which is a famous Pharmacy School will be offering Organic Chem I and II during the summer 2008. This class is without the lab and you can take the lab once you return to states.

The Link is below:

(If you are not taken to the list of organic Chem courses then simply search it)

or you can contact the professor at the following email address and he will give you all the information you need including who to contact and how to register he is really very friendly: john.gitua@drake.edu.

I truly hope this helped you!
