Breaking down polybrominated diphenyl ethers??
« on: April 18, 2008, 06:22:03 PM »
Is there anything that I can be used to do this?

Sure theyre for "Fire safety" but honestly the extreme effects on the endocrine system are outrageous. Would there be any way to break down these compounds in to safe amines or something of the sort??

Hi Qaihyx,

Everything can be incinerated if the temperature is high enough... also, there is the possibility of biodegradation (the right natural flora and fauna would be required).

These are just a couple of suggestions. I am guessing that other members may know of other ways of doing this also.

I hope this helps,

Eugene

Inceneration would cause the release of neurotoxins so thats out :/

Im not aware of any flora what would break down this chemical either.

It would have to be something that you could just pour on your couch and still preseve the fibers and stuff. The chemical is everywhere, your computers couches carpert cars etc etc etc.

I wish you the best on your journey,

Eugene
