I have problem
A cylinder containing 1 kg of water is closed by frictionless piston and a constant pressure of 0.1 atm is applied on the back of the piston. After establishing equilibrium, 10 wt% of the water remains in liquid state. Some additional heat Qadd is then transferred reversibly to the cylinder until all of the water evaporates.
a. Estimate the equilibrium temperature in the system by using the steam tables.
b. Alternatively, esimate the same temperature using the heat of vaporization of water, which is 2255 kJ/kg at 100oC and 1 atm. Did you get a reasonably good estimate, and if yes/no why?
c. Estimate the value of Qadd
