HNMR & IR spectra of α-chloro-2,6-dimethylacetanilide
« on: April 30, 2008, 06:22:01 AM »
Hi,

I am a student currently studying spectroscopy. I attempted to analyse the HNMR and IR spectrum of the above mentioned compound, however, i just could not seem to find information about the peaks and how they correspond to the bonds in α-chloro-2,6-dimethylacetanilide!

Does anyone knows where i can find information on the characteristic peaks and the spectrum of α-chloro-2,6-dimethylacetanilide? Thanks!

Did you try SDBS? Its a pretty good and comprehensive spectral database (H-NMR, if available, is typically labeled). If your school/college/locale has a chemistry program, it might be able to simulate the IR/H-NMR spectra for you. You may not want to rely heavily on the latter approach though.
