Ok, I understand how and what is happening. And that was obviously a controlled experiment to show it.

But as per the comments on the page. I just can not figure out how one could cause those conditions emptying the tanker?

If someone decides to pull vacuum to empty the line you could.  Those kind of road tankers are very easy to suck in.  The same with storage tanks.

Same may happen once you try to heat the tank with steam, or you try to force the content out with steam, and then you leave it closed. When the tank cools down, it gets crushed. It may seem unlikely combination, but stupidity knows no limits ;)

Why did I laugh uncontrollably at that!?

It does seem like something I would try.... I have a slight destructive streak....

I remember when I didnt de pressurerise a reaction vessel and it exploded in my face. Warm KOH/Butene mix went all over my face. I washed my face. Thank god for safety specs. I still see idiots in the undergrad lab handling strong acids without gloves or specs on  :-\

Anyway... I digress.

Cool video!
Don't believe atoms, they make up everything!
