petroleum ether

can anybody tell me the process of obtaining petroleum ether with a specific boiling point of 44 C?

what basic chemicals do i need. i have a well ventilated laboratory where i can experiment freely.

This is a very broad question with no real desired starting point.

Petroleum ether is a mixture of alkanes. So just start with some bottles of alkanes and mix them together.

something more specific..like a ratio of specific alkane susbstances that are easily available?

Some dry cleaning fluids are mostly hexane, can't remember the BP of n-hexane off the top of my head, but its about as low as you can go with alkanes before they start to boil at room temperature, if a low-boiling alkane solvent is what your after (the lowest being pentanes, butane boils at room temperature of course)
