D2O and H2O stability question
« on: October 31, 2008, 01:20:44 PM »
Hi,

I need to handle D2O for the first time, and my colleague told me that D2O is highly unstable if exposed to air.

Is it true?

If it is really very unstable, what actually happens to it? How it decomposes?  How fast ?

Title:
D2O and H2O stability question

I think you'll find, from just about any, of the most general of sources, adequate support for the chemical stability of both substances specified in your title.
Hey, I'm not judging.  I just like to shoot straight.  I'm a man of science.
