Hi,

I have two questions:

1. What does PCC mean, when used in an equation?

2. Propan-2-ol reactions with thionyl chloride, followed by magnesim, followed by  butanal, followed by hydronim workup to make?
My Answer: 2-methylhexan-2-ol

Thank You  :)

PCC usually means pyridinium chlorochromate.

For 2, what do you figure the intermediates are?  I don't get quite the same answer.
