Experiment involving an electrochemical cell
« on: July 31, 2008, 06:41:52 AM »
Hey guys  ;),

I have recently been doing an experiment involving an electrochemical cell - two aq solutions (CuSO4 and MgSO4), with an anode and cathode, connected by a salt bridge and wire.

I am attempting to find the effect that changing the concentrations of solutions has on the voltage / current produced, and then secondly the effect that changing the temperature of the solutions has on the voltage / current produced.

I was hoping that someone could explain what results would be likely to occur, or even just point me in the direction of some internet sites and points of discussion that could be useful in my write-up.

Cheers  :)

hey esterbunny!

Changing concentrations and or temperature will change the voltage produced in accord to le chatelier's principle.

PS: Increasing temperature allows more salt to be dissolve into its aqueous ions
No matters what results are waiting for us, it's nothing but the DESTINY!!!!!!!!!!!!

So what results did your experiments show?
