calibration of calorimeter

there are 2 methods to calibrate a calorimeter (school ones) the electrical way and reacting known amount of substance for which delta H is accurately known, which of the 2 is more accurate and why? please help =]

Using a known reagent to verify results is much better than the "electronic" way.
Just ensure a clean test vial for the best results.
