hello everyone,i am new here .finally i find a forum like this for help in chemistry ;D
well i have some questions for cannizzaro reaction ,i need the answers for my university ,i need the answers today :'( :'(
please help
these are my questions:
1-in the reaction of canizzaro ,why the benzylic alchool is distillated      under reduced pressure?
2-what is the role of NaCl in the decantation?
3-what is the effect of the addition of sulfuric acid concentrated in hot condition on the benzaldehyde?write the mecanism of the reaction

well  i study in  french so i did my best to translate,i hope you understand the questions and get the answers today plllllllllleeeeaaaase i am despirate to find the answers

Benzyl alcohol boils at 205 degrees C at standard pressure...

the reason for most reduced pressure distillations is to reduce the boiling point and to also stop decompostion at elevated temperatures.

As far as the adding of NaCl is concerned, this is probably to get the less solulabe salts in the solution to "crash out".
