I am stumped in Chem II.
« on: September 21, 2008, 12:43:04 PM »
I need help on a couple of questions.

1st question.

If you have Ksp of CuI-1e-12, AgI-8.3e-17, PbI2 7.1e-9, and BiI3 8.1e-19.

What are the compounds in decreasing solubility in Water, .1 M NaI, and .010 M of cation.

2nd Question

What are the molar concentrations of H+ and OH- in .200 M NaOCl with a Ka of 3.00 e-8, and the molar concentrations of H+ and OH- in .250 M hydroxyamine hydrochloride.

Is there away you can go back to edit? I will make the changes anyways. Here is what I have done.

The Equilibrium expression.

HCLO <> ClO- + H3O+

kSP = [H30+][ClO-]/[HClO]

I got the data for KSP and [ClO-], and plugged them in. What do I do next?
