Help: half life of first order reaction
« on: September 24, 2008, 08:56:55 AM »
I was wondering... for a reaction 2A--> B where it is first order with respect to A. Half life of A is constant, but does the concentration of B double with a constant time??

No.  In fact, although the concentration of B increases throughout the reaction, the rate of increase in the concentration of B (dB/dt) decreases as the reaction proceeds.
