Okay. Well I think it would be 1+. The nearest pKa to 5.6 is at 2. So it's buffering capacity would be up to a pH of 3. And since 5.6 is above the buffering capacity, I would think that it wouldn't be able to take up a hydrogen ion.
Am I right?

Arginine has three groups that act as acids/bases.  Based on their pKa's, which groups will be charged?
