Topic: Given 4 solutions of NH4Cl, CuSO4, NaOH and HCL, which reacts to form ammonia  (Read 12589 times)

All of the

chemical equation
CuSO4(aq) + 2NaOH(aq) → Na2SO4(aq) + Cu(OH)2(s)

Total Ionic equation:
Cu2+(aq) + SO42-(aq) + 2Na+(aq) + 2OH-(aq) → 2Na+(aq) SO42-(aq) + Cu(OH)2(s)

net ionic equation:

Cu2+(aq) + 2OH-(aq) → Cu(OH)2(s)

Is there a mistake in there?  no matter how trivial (except for the lack of subscript/superscript, which did not paste correctly)

Generally looks OK. Add + between sodium and sulfate in total ionic.

No idea why do you ask about ammonia though.

Well, given the four chemicals in solution, I needed to identify which 2 would produce a precipitate and which 2  would produce ammonia.

And thanks!  The missing + was a typo
