We have done experiments where we are to burn copper and also Sodium Chlorate. Now we have to write the chemical equations as well as the word equations. Ive gone through this question with the teacher... "There is something left on the copper after its been burnt what is it?... Is it carbon? (because its black)" he said no and i should find it out... i went to other classmates and all theyve told me is "Its burnt Copper".
Now to the main point...
When writing the chemical equation what should i write? I cant write "Copper + Fire ---> Copper carbide"
a) because im sure its not copper carbide
b) because im 200% sure fire wouldnt be right....
any help? All i need is what i should put instead of "fire" and what is made as the ending result
