Hi, i have the general equation for the formation of tetraphenyltin (IV) as
SnCl₄ + PhMgCl =  SnPh₄.
But i was wondering :-
1)why do you have to first prepare SnCl₄.2(C2H5)₂O in the preparation of SnPh₄ and
2) Is it possible to make SnPh₂ from SnCl₂
