« on: January 29, 2009, 05:40:12 AM »
cant figure out these questions.

1) what mass of CsBr must be added to .500 L of water (d= 1.0 g/mL) to produce a .400 m solution?

2) the boiling point of ethanol (C2H5OH) is 78.5 Celsius. what is the boiling point of a solution of 6.4 g of vanillin (M = 152.14 g/mol) in 50.0 g of ethanol. (Kb = 1.22 Celsius/m)

anything helps! thanks

Wikipedia is your friend. It has an entry that can help you on Problem 2.
"Say you're in a [chemical] plant and there's a snake on the floor. What are you going to do? Call a consultant? Get a meeting together to talk about which color is the snake? Employees should do one thing: walk over there and you step on the friggin snake." - Jean-Pierre Garnier, CEO of Glaxosmithkline, June 2006
