Numerical proportion
« on: January 28, 2009, 04:11:09 PM »
Can someone refer me to the right path
I have a relative atomic mass of natural hydrogen 1.00794
relative atomic mass of light hydrogen 1.007825
relative atomic mass of heavy hydrogen 2.014
I need to calculate the number fraction of heavy hydrogen. What is the formula?

Sorry I really dont know is it called Numerical proportion or fraction of heavy hydrogen.

Dear dado;

This is a simple version of  a problem containing two equations with two unknowns.

The first is:           1.00794  =   x * Hl + y * Hh
And the second:      x + y    =   1.00

So I think that should be solvable for you.

Good Luck!
