Replacement for Turro's book - more modern + clear
« on: January 15, 2009, 01:39:07 PM »
Hi, I'm looking for a book to read instead of Turro's book on Modern Molecular Photochemistry. I tried reading Turro's, but it was too painful and out of date. Can someone please suggest another book? I'm an advanced graduate student, but this is a new area to me and I need to know about emissions, fluorescence, phosphorescence, lifetimes, Kasha's rule, Marcus theory and things like that. A more modern book would be great.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Rajan

so i found a really good review that has a lot of important basics of coordination and organic photochemistry. it's top curr chem (2007) 280: 1-36 and it's by balzani, who is apparently like the sweetest photochemist ever. all the awesome molecules at the end of the review are his creations.
