Alkylation of cyclohexanone
« on: February 19, 2009, 05:44:52 AM »
I'm trying to do the mechanism for the single methylation of cyclohexanone.

Is my reaction OK?

Please see attached.

Thanks.

yes.  don't add too much base.  keep methyl iodide away from light.
