HW question about pH and buffers. im so confused, plz help.

???   i am so lost on these questions.  Please show your work if you know how to do the problem, so i can understand it. Thx.  Here it is.

"You need to make a pH = 9.00 buffer solution.

A)  The total volume of the buffer solution must be 2.50 L.  The buffering chemicals of choice are hypochlorous acid and sodium hypochlorite.  The mass (in grams) of each component must be dissolved in order to produce a buffer solution that has a pH of exactly 9.00?  In addition, both components should be present in substantial amount, having a concentration of at least 0.100M.

B)  What would the pH be if you added 2.00L of water to the solution?

Are you aware of the HEnderson Hassebalch equation?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henderson-Hasselbalch_equation

1) What data do you need according to that equation? Is something missing?

2) Also, based on the above equation, can you answer part 2 without bothering to solve part 1 or picking up a pen and paper?
