Peptide/Protein synthesis methods
« on: July 24, 2006, 08:53:23 AM »
hi

I am supposed to do research on peptide/protein synthesis. I was wondering if I missed a general method. what I found is:

isolation out of organisms
production in genetically modified organisms
cell-free in vitro gene expression
protease catalyzed synthesis
"classical" chemical synthesis (mostly solid phase)

If there is something important I forgot then I would appreciate someone telling me. I can't find a general article that just talks about all the methods (the chemists don't seem to be talking to the biologists a lot)

thanks

I have three years experience of solid phase peptide synthesis, maybe I can help you.
