Thermodynamics: Calculate specific heat capacity...?
« on: May 04, 2009, 09:06:32 AM »
So the question goes like this:
A 150g sample of a metal at 80C is placed in a 150g sample of water at 20C. The T of the final system (metal and water) is 23.3C
What is the specific heat capacity of the metal?
Cwater= 4.2JK-1g-1

I think i need to use this equation:
Cs = q/m.deltaT but I am confused about where i get q from!!

Any help would be great thanks
