IR spectrum
« on: May 10, 2009, 12:58:57 AM »
just doing some practice. for this one i can see the C-H (sp3) and the C=C aromatic stretch but i'm not sure where that 1600 applies to and the same with those peaks slightly greater than 3000. I was going to write it off as methyl benzene, but i'm not too sure. Any thoughts?

btw all those peaks near the 3000 just mean C-H right?

thanks again

Alan

EDIT: Sorry i put up the wrong one, i just changed it.

if anyone is curious, i'm sticking with my answer to be toluene (methyl benzene). It seems right, I also compared it with other toluene spectrums online. If not let me know, but I'm 70% sure on this
