Valid Stoichiometric Procedure?
« on: May 31, 2009, 04:36:45 PM »
2 Na + 2 HCl   ==> 2 NaCl +   H2
 1g      1.5859g      2.5423g  0.0438g  <= results              ?1.5859g/L of HCl
   Procedure:
Na => 22.98977 * 2 = 45.97954

Cl => 35.453 * 2 = 70.906

H => 1.0079 * 2 = 2.0158

45.97954 + (2.0158 + 70.906) ==> (45.9754 + 70.906) + 2.0158
                    (72.9218)                     (116.8814)
Dividing all amounts by the amount of Sodium, I obtained the results under the formula.
Is this a valid procedure?
