Hi, I am not sure if this is the correct section so I am sorry if it isn't.

I am studying chemistry in high school and I am interested in taking up a career in chemistry. I looked on a few job hiring websites and to my surprise, a chemist doesn't get paid all that well when compared to other sciences. I am currently looking at a 'research chemist' as they make a decent amount of money and the job criteria seems appealing. However, I would like to know if there are any other jobs in chemistry (apart from chemical engineering) that pay well.

i'm not sure about specific jobs but i know that in Australia research scientists (any kind including chemists) working for defence get very well paid indeed.

when looking at jobs, do also try to remember that there's no point getting a highly paid job if it bores you to death.
you will be paid more if you have better qualifications but also remember that if you want to do research for example, you need a PhD and depending on what country you study in, that requires a significant time commitment

I am in chemistry because I enjoy it.  Not because I wan to be in the rat race forever working for money I do not need to buy things I do not want.  Not the most highest paying job, but I would rather spend my days doing what I enjoy.
