I attached the question and the answer. What confuses me is after I get 0.0005mol. Why must I divide it by 0.5L in order to get 0.001?!
I think that is the extent of my problem but I'll see if an answer leads me to a perfect solution otherwise I'll post again.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

You have to divide so you can obtain the concentration of the acid. Ka expression is in concentration form so any values input should also be in concentrations.

Oh! Somehow the distilled water is how many litres there is! I am still a little confused as to why the water's volume would account for the volume of the carbonic acid in it's mol/L concentration.

An explanation would be appreciated!
