I don't really get it.
FeCl
3 dissolved completely. The reaction is:
FeCl
3 + 3H
2O
FeOH
3 + HCl
I didn't see any precipitate then, so I guess that FeOH
3 was entirely dissolved as well
When I add CaCO
3 I should get:
CaCO
3 + 2HCl
CaCl
2 + CO
2 + H
2O.
This explains the CO
2 forming, but what was the precipitate? Is FeOH
3 kicked out from the solution? Or was the precipitate CaCl
2?
