i got a piece of metal, very similar to gold and it has gravings AuZn 37.5% 250g, so i was wondering anyone knows what isit exacly, i had it for tens of years and only now thought maybe its worth something (is it worth much, how much? ). Id post a picture of it but my camera is broken. please reply, if you have any infromation about it. Thanks in advance

Au is the symbol for gold, and Zn is the symbol for zinc.  37.5% is probably mass gold and zinc / mass bar.  So you've probably got about 70 grams of gold mixed in there (it's going to be worth less than 70g of pure gold though, as it's, well, mixed with a bunch of crap!).

hmm.. okay, so youre saying this piece is worth about the same as 70g gold (when i calculate 250x0.375=93.75g or you dont calculate the ammount of gold in it this way or you just cant seperate it all.. some of it will be lost in the process? =P)?  I`d be very happy if its so? Thanks

I'm assuming that the w/w % is referring to the weight % of gold and zinc in the bar, but maybe it's referring to the percent of gold in a mostly zinc bar.
