I'm trying to find some theoretical values from literature for the neutralization of ammonia with HCl to compare with what I determined experimentally in the lab to be -64.3526kJ/mol to see how large an error I have so I can improve my manual lab skills. But I'm not sure how to work it out the long way from tables of heats of formation of the products and reactants in:
NH3 + H2O --> NH4+ + OH-
OH- + HCl --> H2O + Cl-
NH3 + HCl --> NH4+ + Cl-
Does anyone know the target value or can jolt my memory how to work it out theoretically?
