Bond structure question
« on: August 29, 2009, 05:32:23 AM »
Hi everyone, I got a question for you guys (I dont really understand the question at all!):

A radioactive sample of Na2S2O3 was prepared by boiling solid 32S with Sodium sulphite Na2 32S2O3. Adding HCl(aq) to this sample cause all 35 S to precipitate as sulphur leaving a resultant solution that contains non-radioactive sulphite ions.

Which is the correct displayed formula of thiosulphate ion produced?

ANS:

Can anyone guide me through the thought process? I have 0 understanding of the question. Thanks.
