Mole equations
« on: August 28, 2009, 04:40:45 AM »
I struggle to understand the mole and equations involving the molar mass etc. If someone is able to explain this to me I would really appreciate it. :)

Moles x Molar Mass = Mass.

Mass divided by Molar Mass = Moles.

Always use units if you are confused.

Moles = Mol.
Molar Mass = g/mol
Mass = g.

u also have to take into cosideration, the stiochiometry! and most of the times the mass or number of moles is asked because molar mass is given..unless u have an unknown sample where u have to fine the molar mass to know the formula of your sample

good luck:)
