Help with Retrosynthetic Analysis
« on: September 24, 2009, 03:31:04 PM »
I need to devise a retrosynthetic analysis for the following compound. It is shown in the word document. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

What are the proposed starting materials, or restrictions on what starting materials can be used?

I'd consider terpenes as starting materials if you have the choice. Take a look at limonone or carvone, which are intimately related to the whole right half of that molecule.

There are no required starting materials. The retrosynthetic synthesis must start with something that is readily available. Thanks for your input!
