Yeah, your stated approach is correct. Label each amino acid by its polarity, so that you can identify which one has the clearest regions of amino acids all of one type. Don't be intimidated by the size of the strands...just label each amino acid one at a time and you will eventually have enough information to make a good decision.
The above is a good approach for A. For B, the approach might be to find which strand has the most dissimilar sequence compared to the others listed...
