molar entropy of gaseous methanol at 298 K
« on: October 06, 2009, 04:55:06 PM »
Tvap = 337.7 K
Hvap = 36.5 kj/mol
Cpm for liquid = 81.12 J/k*mol
Cpm for gas = 43.8 J/k*mol

determine entropy for gaseous methanol at 298 K

i was expecting it to be around the standard given in a reference table, around 230-240 J/K mol

can someone help me in finding the correct equation?

i think i was using the integral from 0 to 337.7 of (CpmDT/T + Hvap/Tvap)

or something along that, can't type it out well.
