For the reaction given: Fe (s) + NiCl2 (aq) --> 2 Ni (s) + FeCl2 (aq)
a. oxidation number of Ni (s)
b. oxidation number of Fe in FeCl2 (aq)
c. oxidation number of Cl in FeCl2 (aq)
d. oxidation number of Fe (s)
e. oxidation number of Ni in NiCl2 (aq)
f. oxidation number of Cl in NiCl2 (aq)
g. element oxidized
h. element reduced
i. oxidizing agent
j. reducing agent
Would Fe (s) be 0 for the oxidation number? And wouldn't Fe and Cl in FeCl2 (aq) both have an oxidation number of 0?
Thanks for the *delete me*
