how can you individually identify a mixture containing two components?
this mixture is foung to contain ethanol and ethanoic acid. (USing anal chem method)

I guess u could use infrared spectroscopy for the mixture.

If i recall correctly...the C=O in ethanoic acid can be identified by the spectroscopy as it will have a strong, sharp (sharp pointed peak) absorbance at 1680- 1750 cm^-1 (wavenumber)
Otherwise O-H in ethanol is identified by a strong, broad (blunt peak) absorbance at 3200-3600cm^-1 . Ethanoic acid has a O-H that has medium,very broad absorbance at 2500-330 cm^-1
