In a Dilemma
« on: October 24, 2009, 07:04:11 AM »
Hi friends, I'm in a sort of dilemma, you know. I like chemistry(especially inorganic) and my physics and maths are not that good. I'm trying to get into a good engineering college, but my friends feel that I have an aptitude towards pure sciences. I don't know what to do. Please advise.

I don't say that my friends' advices mean more to me than what I feel about myself. I said that because I couldn't see any major difference between the two jobs(research/engineering) and my seniors keep telling me that it takes good mathematics and physics ability to secure a place in any engineering college. (I haven't consulted any person who's in the profession, however)

You need to be good at maths and physics for both chemistry and chemical engineering.

There is more maths in a typical chem eng degree compared with chemistry I believe.

Do what you love instead of what your friends say you love - if you don't know it, study, you'll eventually learn it.
