Difference between two calcium oxalate structures
« on: November 09, 2009, 09:33:50 AM »
I have never taken inorganic chemistry but I am writing a paper about the inorganic compound calcium oxalate. While I was looking for structures I have become a little confused as to what the difference is between these two structures. They both have the same formula but I don't understand why one has the calcium connected and the other has the calcium off to the side. I am assuming they are the same but I just wanted to make sure because I need to be certain I have the right calcium oxalate structure for my paper

also I have noticed a lot of oxalate compounds have the brackets what is the significance of that?
Thanks a bunch!
